What are you studying?
Bachelor of Health Sciences

Why did you choose to study in Brisbane?
I chose to study in sunny Brisbane because it was relatively close to home, and because I had always wanted to go to UQ. I love its campus, and it’s an added bonus that many of my friends study in Brisbane.

What’s your favourite thing about being a student?
I love being a student as I love learning. I love being able to correctly name all 206 bones in the body, and to be able to look at the world with new perspectives. In many cases, the things I learn are largely applicable in real life.

What’s your favourite thing to do when you’re not studying?
When I’m not studying, I love unwinding with a good book or Netflix TV show, or attempting to cook something fancy. Other than that, I love exploring the beautiful city I call home.

What’s your favourite thing about Iglu?
My favourite thing about Iglu is that it’s a fantastic place not only to study but to grow, as well as to make friends. I love that every person in this building is supported not only by staff, but through the after-hours support system with the RLs. Iglu is right in the heart of the city, meaning that it’s easy to get places, and easy to find public transport.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years I would have just graduated med school, and would soon begin my residency and training to become an ER doctor. I will probably still be living at Iglu!

What words of wisdom would you pass on to future Iglu residents?
Embrace every opportunity you get with an open mind and open heart.
Or, my personal favourite:
1. Sleep more than you study.
2. Study more than you party.
3. Party as much as you possibly can.
