International Students Returning to Australia
Australia is now welcoming international students and we can’t wait to see you.
There are still some pre- and post-arrival requirements you will need to comply with, which we have outlined for you below. Things do change quickly, so it’s best to visit the official websites provided for each state to get the latest information.
Under the new arrangements, you must:
- Check the latest requirements with regard to vaccination status
- Complete a Digital Passenger Declaration (DPD)
- Hold a valid student visa

Post-arrival testing requirements
Each state in Australia has its own testing requirements and you will need to comply with these upon arrival. Our teams are here to support you and to help you navigate your return we have provided a summary of the current requirements for Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Returning to Sydney

Arriving at Iglu
We will be asking incoming arrivals to complete their Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) prior to checking in at Iglu. We suggest purchasing some tests prior to your departure. This means you take your test before you arrive at Iglu, and you can confirm the result with our team upon check-in.
The requirements do change quickly and our teams will provide up-to-date pre-arrival information to all incoming students.
Recognition of vaccines
The following vaccines and dosages are accepted for the purposes of international travel are:
- Two doses at least 14 days apart of:
- AstraZeneca Vaxzevria
- AstraZeneca Covishield
- Pfizer/Biontech Comirnaty
- Moderna Spikevax or Takeda
- Sinovac Coronavac
- Bharat Biotech Covaxin
- Gamaleya Research Institute Sputnik V
- Novavax/Biocelect Nuvaxovid
- Sinopharm BBIBP-CorV
or
- One dose of:
- Johnson & Johnson/ Janssen-Cilag COVID Vaccine
and at least 7 days has passed since the final dose of vaccine in a course of immunisation.
Mixed doses count towards being fully vaccinated for international travel as long as all vaccines are approved or recognised by the TGA.

Before you book
With the Australia’s border now open to international students, our standard cancellation policy will apply for all new bookings. We recommend that you check flight availability before finalising your booking to ensure you can arrive by your selected check-in date.
